An Inspired Layered Color Palette!

by Katie on May 9, 2011

The colors that surround us have a strong influence on our lives. Have you ever woken up in the morning and had an urge to wear a certain color? The colors that you bring into your home help create an environment that impact your feelings, mood and lifestyle. Whether you go bright and bold or neutral and calm, color is one of the most important ingredients when it comes to  interior design.  When selecting a color scheme for your space, try creating a layered palette of shades and textures. Begin with one base color (usually a neutral tone, but not always!) Then, build on that color scheme by introducing three to four other colors with items such as drapes, flooring and accessories.

Paint, it’s the fastest way to bring color into your space. It’s relatively inexpensive, easy to change and a fast way to add drama to any space. Many times, color can acts as the design glue that holds a space together. Color is a great way to make your space feel well-planned, thought out and organized.

So, take a quick  tour of  a few unique color palettes that may inspire your senses!

I purchased tickets at Whole Foods. I have really gotten into home tours lately! They had an AMAZING one in the Oak Cliff/Kessler Park area a few months ago! Super creative spaces. They are great to get ideas and inspiration!
