Ceiling Mount Drum Shades! Drum Roll Please…

by Katie on April 5, 2011

Even if you don’t stay on top of  the latest lighting trends, you may have noticed drum shade fixtures are making a comeback. Drum shades fixtures are typically seen on table and standing lamps all the time as they have been in style for a very long time. The popularity of drum shade chandeliers probably stems from the fact they work with nearly any style of decor, and now their widespread availability makes it possible to find one that will fit into almost any price point. I’ve recently noticed these shades used not only as lamp shades and chandeliers, but also as ceiling mount fixtures! I’ve included some fantastic examples of drum shades and a wonderful DIY project used to cover a current ugly fixture. Check it out!

I think I will! I love, love, love these. I am planning on using one in my updated Master Bedroom and possibly the nursery. And if I can do one of them myself and save a little money I just might try it!

I am thinking of making one for a dining room project I am working on!! I’ll let you know how it goes! Recently, I found a picture of a nursery on Decor Pad that has a large drum shade fixture. The whole room is too die for! I will show it in my upcoming post about funky rocking chairs! 😉

I guess I am the only one who doesn’t love this style. I do LOVE your guest bedroom post above. It is very chic!
